Oviedo announces “regulatory actions” to “safeguard the result” of the match against Rayo

Real Oviedo has shown its “solidarity and empathy” with the Rayo Vallecano players and has been grateful that the “physical integrity and safety of the footballers” has been prioritized with the suspension of their match this Saturday against the Rayista team in Vallecas, but denounces the “obvious damage” that the postponement represents for their team, since it was announced when they had already traveled to Madrid, and will study “regulatory actions” to “safeguard the result of the meeting and guarantee equitable competitive conditions.

“This decision represents obvious damage to our entity, both from a sporting, organizational and economic point of view, as it occurred once the team had moved, as well as to our fans and the media who were planning to attend the match,” he said in a statement this Saturday.

LaLiga announced this Saturday that the match of the twenty-third day of LaLiga EA Sports between Rayo Vallecano and Real Oviedo, scheduled for this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Vallecas Stadium, has been suspended due to the poor condition of the venue’s grass, which does not meet “the necessary guarantees” to preserve “the physical integrity of the players.”

The Asturian entity, although grateful that the competent bodies “have prioritized the physical integrity and safety of the footballers”, revealed that it is even considering claiming the three points in the match. “In view of the concurrent circumstances, Real Oviedo expresses its deep discomfort at the serious setback generated and the substantial alteration in the conditions of availability of players that directly affects our team, taking into account the qualifying situation and the relevance of the points in dispute for both entities,” he stated.

“Consequently, the club announces that it will study and exercise any regulatory actions that may be appropriate before the competent bodies, with the aim of safeguarding the result of the match and guaranteeing equitable competitive conditions,” he continued.

Despite everything, Real Oviedo showed its “solidarity” with the players and coaching staff of Rayo Vallecano, who on Friday denounced the lack of solutions by the club’s presidency to various deficiencies in the facilities and professional development of the club. “The club expresses its solidarity and empathy with the staff, the coaching staff and the fans of Rayo Vallecano in the face of the situation they are going through, made public yesterday through a statement from the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE),” the Oviedo club said.
