Great news ahead of the start of the new F1 season: Barcelona remains on the world championship calendar

Barcelona will alternate with Belgium until 2032. Barcelona will host the race in 2028, 2030 and 2032, and the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps in 2027, 2029 and 2031.

This year, both tracks will host Formula 1, Barcelona on June 14, and Spa-Francorchamps on July 19.

“This renewal of the contract is the result of a strong relationship and close cooperation and represents a very important step in the further consolidation of Catalonia as a key player in the international calendar,” said Circuits de Catalunya executive director Pol Gibert.

“Formula 1 generates an economic impact of more than 300 million euros per race, but above all it is a strategic event that helps project Catalonia around the world as a country capable of hosting top sports competitions,” he added.

F1 executive director Stefano Domenicali also commented on the signing of the contract.

“Barcelona is an amazing city and the Formula 1 fans always welcome us there with so much passion, so I’m delighted that we will continue to race ​​at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for years to come.”

Let’s remind you that tests are currently taking place in Bahrain ahead of the new season, which starts in three weeks, that is, the first race will be held in Australia on October 8.
