Norway’s superstar Kläbo wins his 10th Olympic gold

Superstar Johannes Hösflot Kläbo is only the second athlete to do so after speed skaters Eric Heiden (USA) the fifth gold medal picked up in the same games. The Norwegian increased on Wednesday Tesero with Team-Sprint-Gold on the side of Einar Hedegart to a total of ten Olympic victories, with which Kläbo further expanded his status as the best winter athlete in the long-term best list.

Norway won ahead of the USA and Italy. The ÖSV duo Michael Föttinger/Benjamin Moser After finishing seventh in the qualification, they also achieved seventh place in the grand final of the best 15 teams.

Gold among women went to the Swedes Maja Dahlqvist and Jonna Syndling just 1.4 seconds ahead of the surprisingly strong Switzerland. Nadine Fähndrich launched an attack on Sweden in the final section, Germany took bronze with Laura Gimmler/Coletta Rydzek (GER). The 19-year-old Heidi Bucher and the 24-year-old Magdalena Scherz showed a strong performance. After eighth place in the qualification, the duo from Tyrol and Burgenland achieved the hoped-for top ten place with tenth place.
