Finland the women’s pair sprint ended dramatically.

Jasmi Joensuu was at a great pace in the fifth leg. The second one left for the anchor section Jasmin Kähärä froze and then crashed downhill.

Finland’s ranking was ninth in the final. Two disappointed women appeared before the media.

“I was just too stressed. Going into the last round, I trusted that I would be able to fight for the medal. I just had too much stress on the last climb,” Kähärä said.

According to Joensuu, Finland entered Wednesday’s pair sprint as challengers. The bold tactic worked. Joensuu kept the couple involved in the fight Jonna Sundlingia and Jessie Diggins against with odd shares. The Finns’ skis also skated well.

“We are really proud of both of us. We did everything as well as we could. Top sport is a brutal game,” said Joensuu.

“If this doesn’t make you hungry, I don’t know what will.”
