The star in the Flamengo jersey, ča widow off the field

At the height of his career, Bruno was an absolute star. Flamengo paid about three million euros for him, and he justified the trust by becoming the captain and one of the most loved players. He won titles, defended penalties, and was also known for his unusual skill for a goalkeeper – scoring goals from free kicks. He scored four goals for Flamengo and was on the verge of being called up to the national team brazilian. But while the fans celebrated his successes, a horror story unfolded outside the field. Bruno was in an extramarital relationship with a model Elisom Samudiowho became pregnant in 2009. He refused to acknowledge paternity and pressured her to have an abortion. When she refused and demanded alimony, she signed her own death warrant.

A brutal murder that shocked Brazil

In June 2010, Eliza Samudio has disappeared. The investigation revealed terrifying details. She was lured to Bruna’s estate under the pretext of discussing child support. There they kidnapped her, tortured her and finally strangled her. The crime, which Bruno organized, was carried out by a former policeman. According to the testimony of Bruna’s cousin, who participated in the crime, her body was dismembered after the murder. Part of the remains was thrown by his Rottweilers, while the other part was concreted. The body was never found. In 2013, Bruno was sentenced to 22 years and three months in prison for ordering a murder, hiding a body and kidnapping.

From prison to returning to the big stage

Despiteč heavy sentence, Bruno spent just over six years in prison before being released in 2019 to a semi-open regime, which allowed him to work during the day and be under house arrest at night. He has been on parole since January 2023. Each of his attempts to return to football provoked public anger and the withdrawal of sponsors from the clubs that wanted to hire him. Despiteč after all, he has now signed for a lower league team Vasco da Gama of Acre and should feature in the national cup, which is considered his return to the big stage. His lack of remorse is even more shocking.
