There were 10 police officers and 3 gendarmes competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics. From Mathis Desloges to Océane Michelon via Paco Rassat and Timothy Loubineaud, several athletes from the French delegation have a contract within the police force allowing them to live from their passion and train intensely.

This Monday, the day after the closing ceremony of the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez congratulated them in a message published on his social networks. He thus congratulated “all of our high-level sports police officers and gendarmes who carried the colors of France and our security forces high. »

The former Paris police chief paid particular attention to “cross-country runners Théo Schely and Mathis Desloges for their four silver medals” and to “biathlete Océane Michelon, double Olympic champion in mass start and women’s relay, and silver medalist in sprint”. “Pride, commitment and excellence in the service of sport and the Nation,” he concluded.

The two French cross-country skiers are reservist police officers and have been integrated since 2023 into the national police team which already brought together many athletes from the Summer Olympic Games. The biathlete is a quartermaster in the national gendarmerie. The cross-country skier Lucas Chanavat and the alpine skier Nils Allègre are also part of this corps of the French army.
