Floyd Mayweather confirms return to professional boxing

“I have what it takes to break more records in boxing. From my next event against Mike Tyson to my next professional fight after that, no one is going to generate a bigger box office, have a bigger global audience and generate more money from each event than me,” said Mayweather.

Exhibition fight before official return

Before making his return to the professional circuit official, Mayweather has an exhibition commitment against Tyson. The fight does not yet have a defined date or location, but the expectation is that it will take place in the first half of this year.

Since officially retiring, the former world champion has only participated in exhibition fights, which do not form part of his professional record.

Perfect record and historic retirement

Mayweather announced his retirement in 2017, at the age of 40, after defeating Irishman Conor McGregor by technical knockout, in one of the most profitable fights in the history of combat sports.

He ended his career with an impeccable record: 50 wins and no losses, establishing himself as one of the greatest boxers of all time.
