Real Madrid will expel a member for giving the Nazi salute in the Bernabéu stands

A Real Madrid fan was expelled from the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium this Wednesday at the start of the Champions League match against Benfica for repeatedly performing the Nazi salute, as captured by television cameras, and the white team also announced that it began the permanent expulsion of the member.

“Real Madrid announces that it has urgently asked the club’s Disciplinary Commission to initiate an immediate expulsion procedure for the member who has been captured by television cameras making the Nazi salute in the area where the Animation Stand is located, moments before the start of the match between Real Madrid and Benfica,” the club says in a statement.

The capital team confirmed that the man was forced to leave his place in the stands immediately. “This member was located by the club’s security members moments after he appeared on the broadcast and was immediately expelled from the Santiago Bernabéu stadium,” he added.

“Real Madrid condemns these types of gestures and expressions that incite violence and hatred in sport and society,” concludes the note about the incident in a stand that, just this Wednesday, displayed the message “No to racism. Respect” at the beginning, after Vinícius denounced the racist insult by Gianluca Prestianni in the first leg of the Playoff in Lisbon.
