Ronaldo buys shares in Spanish second division club

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has bought a deal with Spanish second division club UD Almería. The Portuguese secured 25 percent of the shares in the club through his company CR7 Sports Investments, as Almería announced. “It has long been my goal to contribute to football beyond the pitch. UD Almería is a club with a solid base and clear growth potential,” the 41-year-old was quoted as saying.

The majority shareholder and president of the club is Mohamed Al Khereiji from Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo has been playing in the Saudi league for Al Nassr since 2023.
