Italian Ski-Star Federica Brignone ended after the sensational win of two gold medals at the Olympic Winter Games in Cortina and the World Cup last weekend in Soldeu (Andorra). “I think I’ve asked a lot of my body in the last few months,” the 35-year-old said on social networks on Monday. This also happens no start at this week’s races in Val di Fassa.
“I tried to continue the season, but now my body is taking its toll. That’s why I’m taking advantage of the end of the season to give myself a break and then continue the rehabilitation in the best possible way, which was of course very limited during this time, in order to achieve the miracle that we achieved,” explained Brignone. She seriously injured her left knee in a fall at the national championships last April and is still suffering from the after-effects.
