Women’s national coach Wück in an interview before the start of the World Cup qualification

FFor the German women’s national soccer team, there is no major tournament this year for the first time since 2021. The goal is to qualify for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil. It starts this Tuesday (5:45 p.m., ARD), national coach Christian Wück’s team meets Slovenia in Dresden, Norway awaits on Saturday, and the games against Austria follow in April. Only the first in the group qualifies directly. For Wück, who currently has a contract until 2029, the World Cup could mark the start of a successful series of tournaments with the highlight being the home European Championships in 2029.
