Julia Scheib actually did it. The Styrian secured it early Victory in the Giant Slalom World Cup and thereby fulfills a lifelong dream.
5th win of the season
It was a show of force with which Scheib secured the overall ranking. The Styrian won the penultimate giant slalom in Are and celebrated her fifth victory of the season.
Long dry spell
After the first run, the Styrian was still in second place, directly behind the Swiss Camille Rast, the last competitor in the fight for the ball. Rast didn’t finish in the second run, while Julia Scheib put on a show and won clearly ahead of Paula Moltzan (USA) and Alice Robinson (NZL).
Julia Scheib presented herself with strong nerves and ended a long dry spell. Eva-Marie Brem last won the ball in the giant slalom in 2015/’16.
