Rangnick assistant loses coaching job in Belgium

Cercle Bruges has cooperation with head coach Onur Cinel ended. The German, who only took over the team last summer, is no longer working in Belgium.

However, the 39-year-old is still working as an assistant to the team boss Ralf Rangnick at the ÖFB committed and can now fully concentrate on the tasks in the Austrian national team – especially with a view to the upcoming challenges and the World Cup.

This development also benefits the ÖFB from a personnel perspective. Just recently, Rangnicks became first assistant Lars Kornetka as the new head coach of Eintracht Braunschweig presented. Due to his new role in the club business, Kornetka is likely to be less available to the national team until the World Cup, which is why he will only be attending the ÖFB team’s training course at the end of March for four out of ten days.

Cercle Bruges recently slipped to 15th and penultimate place in the Belgian league under Cinel.
