Joan Garcia is not injured and will be able to play for Barça against Rayo

FC Barcelona’s Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia is not injured, despite having to be substituted in Wednesday’s Champions League match against Newcastle, and will be available for Sunday’s EA Sports LaLiga match against Rayo Vallecano.

“The medical tests carried out this morning on Joan Garcia have ruled out any injury. The player will be available for Hansi Flick for the next match,” the Blaugrana club said in a statement.

Although it seemed that there could be a muscle injury, given that it was the Sallent goalkeeper who asked for the change and seeing that the calf area was touched, finally the tests to which he was subjected this Thursday have ruled out any type of anomaly.

Joan Garcia, who gave way on the field to Wojciech Szczesny in the 82nd minute, may be available to receive Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

And he may also be called up by the Spanish coach, Luis de la Fuente, for the international date prior to the triple duel, between the League and the Champions League quarterfinals, against Atlético de Madrid, with the derby against Espanyol in between.
