Bento returns to Athletico’s CT before presenting to the Brazilian team

Athletico announced this Thursday (19) that the goalkeeper Bentowho belongs to Al-Nassr, from Saudi Arabia, is in Curitiba and will carry out activities at CT do Caju before presenting himself to the Brazilian team next Sunday (22). Piá do Caju will take advantage of the red-black structure to maintain the training pace.

Bento is one of the five names that have been present in every call-up since coach Carlo Ancelotti took over the team. The 26-year-old player, who has had a turnaround this season, is alongside defender Wesley, midfielder Casemiro and striker Matheus Cunha, the creation of the Coritiba.

Furthermore, another detail is that, since making his debut for the national team, against England, in March 2024, Bento has not been left out of any call-up. He was on all of Dorival Júnior’s final lists and remained with Ancelotti, even with the name, for example, of Hugo Souza, from Corinthians, gaining strength. Furthermore, the goalkeeper’s first call-up was in August 2023, when the national team coach was still Fernando Diniz.

In the current season, Bento has played 23 games and conceded 11 goals. The Brazilian ended up with a streak of eight games without being leaked, after regaining the starting spot from Nawaf Al-Aqidi, starter for the Saudi national team.

At the end of this month, Brazil will play the last two friendlies before the final call-up for the 2026 World Cup. Brazil will face France on March 26th (Thursday), at Gillette Stadium, in Boston, at 5pm (Brasília time). Then, on the 31st (Tuesday), the team faces Croatia at the Camping World Stadium, in Orlando, at 9pm.

Furthermore, it has already been decided that the team will wear the second uniform, blue, in the duel against the French team. Against the Croatians, Brazil will play with the number 1 uniform, predominantly yellow.

Finally, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) also confirmed the day May 18 as the date of the final call-up of the Brazilian team for the World Cup, according to the entity’s selection coordinator, Rodrigo Caetano.
