Austria Vienna and the hurdles the violets face on the way to flowering

The documents were submitted on time. The presentation, according to AG’s CFO Harald Zagiczek is said to have been credible. This week the Bundesliga may begin to ask questions about certain points. On April 8th or 9th, the Violets will know whether they will receive the license in the first instance, as they have in the past two years.

Player contracts

Reinhold Ranftl’s contracts expire in the summer, Tin Plavotic and Philipp Wiesinger out of. There have been no discussions with Plavotic so far; the player is said to want to leave the club of his own accord. Ranftl and Wiesinger, however, would probably want to stay; those responsible take into account factors such as age, salary, performance and role in the dressing room. We are also examining which positions there could be alternatives with young talent.

Trainer Helm

His contract also ends at the final whistle of the season. Sports Director Tomas Zorn said in the KURIER that there was no argument not to extend the contract. Nevertheless, he is in no rush about this matter; initial discussions should take place now or soon. Helm has proven in the past that despite the turbulence in the environment, which is the fault of those responsible, you can remain calm and do sensible work.

Purchase of WTF shares

This undertaking becomes a sticking point as to how things continue in the background at Austria. Finally with the necessary calm, or will we continue with a hiccup of vanities and mutual insults? Austria has been wanting to buy back the investment shares of the WTF group for a year and a half. These shares are currently worth 7.5 million euros, and Austria is in good spirits to raise this amount by the agreed date at the end of June.

Zagiczek contract

The CFO’s contract ends in September, and the Supervisory Board will decide on a possible extension. And that’s where things get explosive. Because the WTF still has four of the nine members, they certainly won’t vote for Zagiczek. The five members represented by Austria would therefore have to vote for him.

After the investigations against Zagiczek and Jürgen Werner by auditors, it remains to be seen what consequences these audits will have for some decision-makers. All allegations turned out to be unfounded, meaning that both Zagiczek and Werner were “cleared”. Whether this gives them a clean slate for everyone remains to be seen.
