PSG: Vitinha and Nuno Mendes, tied, are our players of the month for March

They will go to the selection hand in hand. Authors of an (almost) perfect month, Nuno Mendes and Vitinha carried Paris Saint-Germain. With an average score of 6.81/10, the two men were elected players of the month for the capital club, according to the scores given by the “Parisien” reporters. This is the second time since the launch of this format that the title has been shared, after that of João Neves and Willian Pacho in November 2024.

As usual this season, the two compatriots were up to the task of PSG’s major events. However, everything did not start very well for Luis Enrique’s men. For their third confrontation against Monaco in the space of three weeks, the Parisians were coldly beaten at the Parc des Princes (1-3). If Nuno Mendes was the best Parisian thanks to his significant offensive contribution (rated 5/10), Vitinha was well below his usual performance (4/10).

The postponement of the match against Nantes was good

When it was time to play its quarter-final of the Champions League against Chelsea, Paris put on its costume of light to extinguish the Blues. First in the first leg (5-2), where the defensive friability of Nuno Mendes (rated 5/10) was forgotten by the genius of Vitinha, author of a superb lob (rated 7/10). Then in the return match (0-3), where the left side stifled Pedro Neto (rated 6/10), while the midfielder delivered a performance worthy of his talent (rated 6/10).

Encouraged by the postponement of their championship match against Nantes, initially scheduled between their two matches against Chelsea, the Rouge et Bleu calmly approached their last match before the international break. The Lisbon native, replaced as a left winger, concluded his month of March with a bang with a goal from a penalty and an assist for Doué (rated 7/10).

The two Portuguese playmates can now peacefully leave for the selection, with two friendly matches planned with the Seleção, in Mexico City against Mexico (March 29) and in Atlanta against the United States (April 1). Before starting a muscular period, mixing the final phase of the Champions League, the title race in Ligue 1 and the 2026 World Cup.

To complete the top 5, Vitinha and Nuno Mendes are closely followed by Bradley Barcola, penalized by his absence against Nice due to a sprained ankle (6.75), and Matvey Safonov (6.63). Finally, Willian Pacho brings up the rear (6.53).
