“I won’t talk until he leaves”, Verstappen ‘chases’ journalist before the Japanese GP

Tension between Max Verstappen and a journalist on the eve of the Japanese Grand Prix weekend. The Red Bull driver, after noticing the presence of a reporter from the ‘Guardian’, Giles Richards, who asked him at Abu Dhabi 2025 if he had any regrets about the accident with George Russell in Barcelona, which cost him decisive points for the title, reacted by refusing his presence.

In fact, according to what Sky Sport reports, Verstappen shouted at the journalist: “I won’t talk until he leaves“. And, after a brief exchange, he reiterated his position with a sharp: “Get out.”

Verstappen then talked about the race and a complicated start to the season so far for Red Bull: “I don’t think much about past years because every year is different, but we have to be realistic and admit that at the moment we are far from that level, so I’ll face the weekend and see where we will be.”

“I hope we can use this break to understand our car better,” explained the Dutch driver, “learn from previous races and try to be closer to the lead. I think this is our goal. The weekend in China wasn’t the best for us, so I hope it remains our worst for a while. In this sense, the break will be positive.”
