SC Magdeburg wins the top game against Füchse Berlin

The defending champions from the capital got off to a better start and quickly took a 3-1 lead thanks to three Gidsel goals. That was quickly gone with the first time penalty, but the Foxes let the ball run quickly and kept finding solutions. On the other hand, Magdeburg repeatedly used its advantages in one-on-one situations.

Magdeburg stronger in the final spurt

The fact that the Berliners were almost always in the lead in the first half was due to keeper Dejan Milosavljev. The 30-year-old Serb not only made strong saves, but also proved to be a seven-meter scare for Magdeburg. He parried five of seven penalty throws – against five different shooters. Thanks to good defensive work, Magdeburg managed to equalize again shortly before the break.

But the Foxes came out of the locker room better again and were able to easily pull away for the first time with three goals (19:16). Afterwards things got more heated and the hosts benefited from that. A good ten minutes before the end, Magdeburg had turned the game around (28:26). And despite a red card against Matthias Musche (52nd minute), they achieved victory thanks to saves from keeper Matej Mandic.
