Lance Stroll will race the GT World Challenge test at the Circuit Paul Ricard

The Canadian driver Lance Stroll, teammate of the Spanish Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin Aramco team of the Formula 1 World Championship, will run the GT World Challenge test at the Paul Ricard Circuit (France), which will be held on April 11 and 12.

The GT World Challenge organization highlighted this Thursday that this test at Paul Ricard will have more than 30 rookies on its grid, including the trio formed by Stroll and the two Spaniards Roberto Merhi and Mari Boya aboard the #18 car of Comtoyou Racing, from Aston Martin.

“The same 10 brands that competed last year return in 2026. They are Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche,” the organization indicated on its website.

“Porsche leads the list with 10 models, while Mercedes-AMG follows closely with nine. Audi, BMW, Ferrari and Porsche have one model in all four categories, while Corvette is the only brand that is based on a single vehicle,” the same press release added.

Stroll will be able to participate in this race because F1, in accordance with a decision made together with the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the respective promoters, recently canceled the Grand Prix of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia that had to be held this April, due to the war in Iran and the instability in nearby countries in that area.
