Bundesliga: Pyro show from Berlin fans: Union has to pay a lot

1. FC Union Berlin has to pay a heavy fine because of a large pyrotechnic show that resulted in the game being interrupted. A total of 340,000 euros is due, as the German Football Association (DFB) announced. The people of Köpenick can use 113,000 euros of this for security or violence prevention measures.

The penalty relates to Berlin’s Bundesliga game against Eintracht Frankfurt on February 6th. According to the DFB, Union fans lit at least 200 Bengal fires in the ninth minute. The game was then interrupted for almost seven minutes.
