Torres ends the goal drought with a “double”

“The Shark” Ferran Torres succeeded in breaking the scoring drought that lasted for more than two months, as he opened the scoring in the ninth minute after exploiting an error in judgment by Espanyol goalkeeper Dmitrovich following a corner kick taken by Lamine Yamal. It did not take long for Torres to double the lead in the 25th minute with a world-class goal, after a magical “Trivella” pass from Yamal, to put the ball into the net with an artistic touch.
Barcelona continued to stay away at the top with 79 points, ahead of second-placed Real Madrid with 70 points, while Villarreal came third with 58 points, and Atletico Madrid came fourth with 57 points.
In the rest of the positions, Real Betis came fifth with 45 points, followed by Celta Vigo with 44 points, then Real Sociedad with 42 points, and Getafe with 41 points.
The ranking of the remaining teams was as follows: Osasuna, Espanyol, Athletic Bilbao, and Girona with 38 points each, then Rayo Vallecano and Valencia with 35 points, Alaves with 33 points, and Elche with 32 points.
The positions were concluded with Mallorca and Sevilla with 31 points each, then Levante with 26 points, and Real Oviedo in last place with 24 points.
