NHL: Aleksander Barkov was injured – received a blow to the head – Sports

Aleksander Barkov’s match in Las Vegas ended in the first round.

Florida Captain of the Panthers Alexander Barkov was injured Finnish time on Friday morning in the match against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Defender of Vegas Alec Martinez hit Barkov in the head with his elbow behind the goal in a puck chase situation in the first period of the match. No punishment was imposed for the situation.

“Here’s the elbow that sent Barkov off the rink,” a member of the Panthers media team Jameson Olive wrote in connection with the video he published on X (formerly Twitter).

Barkov had been on the ice for less than five minutes before his injury, and he did not return to the rink after the concussion he received.

Florida experienced another setback in the match, when Evan Rodrigues had to leave the match due to a lower body injury in the first set.

The head coach Paul Maurice didn’t say how serious the injuries were. According to him, we will get more information about the players’ health conditions the day after the match.

Barkov has played 35 matches in the current season and scored 11+28=39.
