Petra Martić won at Roland Garros, and Ćirić-Bagarić lost

Croatian tennis player Petra Martić she made it to the 2nd round Roland Garrosawhile Lucija Čirić Bagarić lost in her first Grand Slam appearance. Martić defeated the French woman Kristina Mladenovic s 6-4, 6-4, while Ćirić Excavatorsć defeated after a great fight from an American woman Peyton Stearns s 3-6, 7-6 (8), 6-7 (6).

Martić (WTA-81) beat the 212th player in the world and the winner in an hour and a half wildcarda Mladenovic, with whom she has played as many as ten times and celebrated in eight matches. Petra had 61 percent of first serve hits, 29 winners and 21 unforced errors, while she broke the French’s serve four times.

In the next round Martić goes to the Belgian Elize Mertens, Ćirić-Bagarić (WTA-184) had to concede defeat to Stearns after two and a half hours of play. For the 20-year-old from Dubrovnik, this was the first grand-slam meč in her career, against an American woman who is two years older than her, who won her first WTA title in Rabat last week, after she “turned” 0-5 and 30-40 against the Italian Bronzetti in the third set in the čquarterfinals.

However, the Croatian tennis player had a chance for the biggest victory in her career, as she led 5-3 in the third set. In the second set, Lucija first saved two tied meč-balls at 4-5, and then three more in the “tie-break”. In the third, she served for the win with a brave game, but the 62nd player in the world advanced to the 2nd round.
