Damião scores again for Coritiba after 90 days and praises interim

In the 4-2 victory of Coritiba over Ituano, the center forward Leandro Damião broke a long fast. The number 9 hadn’t scored in 90 days and found the net again this Friday (7), at Couto Pereira, in the ninth round of Series B.

“The home factor is very important for us. The fans came and supported us. We have to maintain this regularity, next game against Goiás we need to win, we have to be more regular in the championship. We cannot win one game and lose the other”, stated the athlete to Sportv at the end of the game.

The white number 9 took advantage of the victory to praise interim James Freitas. The coach completed the sixth game ahead of Coxa. This week, after the defeat to Ceará, the Alviverde board confirmed that it is looking for a new coach to fill the vacancy effectively.

“The game against Ceará was atypical, but our team has improved and grown. James is a great coach, a great person, I knew him before, the group is assimilating his work very well, we have everything we need to continue winning “, said Damião.
