1000 Miglia in Piedmont, this evening in Turin the arrival in Piazza San Carlo

Leaving the province of Brescia behind, the cars reached Bergamo where, inside the Guardia di Finanza Academy, they carried out a Stamp Check and Timed Trials valid for the Trophy dedicated to the two hundred and fiftieth birthday of the Military Force.

As the first historic cars left Bergamo, the sky began to open, at times allowing a few faint glimmers of sunshine. After 100 kilometres, the convoy reached the historic center of Novara for the stamp control near the Coccia Theatre, while in Piazzale Edmondo Mornese, next to the Silvio Piola Stadium, the Time Control was held which closed the first sector of the race . The crews then entered the Novara plain and, near Casalino, a quiet agricultural center halfway between Novara and Vercelli, they faced a block of 8 Time Trials. The partial ranking, updated to the Franciacorta Time Trials, confirms that the crew to beat is the one made up of Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli. In second and third place were two other Alfa Romeo 6Cs, the 1931 one by the Argentinians Tonconogy and Ruffini and the 1929 one by Alberto Aliverti and Stefano Valente. In fourth position the Fontanella-Covelli couple.

Having reached Vercelli and after the Stamp Control in Piazza Cavour, the cars crossed the city center parading in front of the Basilica of Sant’Andrea, the longest-standing example of Piedmontese Gothic architecture. While the Tribute Ferraris will be close to crossing the first stage finish line in Turin, the historic cars will arrive at the Time Control of the city of Sabauda around 8pm. Once the race activities have concluded in Settimo Torinese, the cars will be escorted by the Local Police until in the centre: having crossed the Royal Gardens, the jewels produced between 1927 and 1957 will return to greet the heart of the former Italian capital, skirting Palazzo Madama and the Royal Palace in Piazza Castello. Following the passage through Via Roma to Piazza San Carlo, where the cars will be presented to the public. Making the evening even more special will be the view of the Mole Antonelliana, which for the occasion will be lit up by the Freccia Rossa.
