German medal hopes

After the German team finished first in the medal table at the 2022 European Championships in Munich, a year later at the World Championships in Budapest there was a big disappointment: In 49 decisions, the DLV team did not win a single medal – it was the worst performance by a German team ever at a World Athletics Championships. Nevertheless, some German athletes are again heading to Rome as favorites for a medal at the continental showdown – or at least as defending champions.
