Cheerleading|HAC Elite won the women’s cheer championship gold by far.
Advance favourites held their ground in the finals of the cheerleading championships in Espoo on Sunday. In the main series, i.e. women’s cheer, HAC Elite took the victory, which beat last year’s champion Funky Team Wild Flyers with no less than 64.5 points.
“Yes, it’s okay now! On Saturday [semifinaalissa] a bit of purposeful feeling was skimmed and saved for this day. It paid off, because today the mood was on the roof since morning. Our program is built in such a way that we win and win to the fullest,” the captain of HAC Elite Tuuve Häkkinen commented in the announcement.
The women’s cheer bronze was taken by a surprise from Oulu, the Northern Lights Cheerleading club’s Diamonds team, which last won medals in 2011.
Adult in mixed cheer, Funky Team Gorillaz already won their 24th consecutive championship, and in cheerdance, Dream Team Dancers celebrated their 11th consecutive SM gold.
