Feyenoord striker reveals dream of playing for Flamengo

The ex-Coritiba and current Feyenoord striker, Igor Paixão revealed that he would like to play for Flamengo in the future. Revealed by Coxa, the athlete was the highlight of the Dutch team this season.

The player revealed his desire in an interview with the channel Coxanautas. On vacation, Paixão is in Curitiba and even held an event in the city, “Resenha do Paixão”. The striker is an idol of the white and white fans.

In the Rotterdam team, the striker had a great season this year. He was the scorer of the Dutch championship title goal. In 45 games, he scored 12 goals and had four assists. Last season, he also stood out, with nine goals in 39 games.

Feyenoord striker was the biggest sale in Coritiba’s history

Sold to Feyenoord for 8 million euros in 2022, Igor Paixão was the biggest deal in Coxa’s history. The striker was trained at the club’s academy, where he played since he was 14 years old. The club maintains 20% of the athlete’s rights for possible resale.

An idol of the Alviverde fans and coveted in Brazilian and European football, Paixão took a while to get into Alviverde. He moved up to the main group after competing in the 2019 Copinha.

The striker debuted for the main team in the Campeonato Paranaense, but played just 11 matches that year, didn’t score once and was loaned to Londrina the following season, to compete in Series C.

At the club from the interior of Paraná, the player helped Londrina rise from the Third Division to Series B of the Brazilian Championship, with four goals in 31 games. Back at Coxa in 2021, Paixão won the starting line-up and scored ten goals in the season. The following year, the striker exploded, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists in 37 games.
