Brazil is armed with its stars against Costa Rica

The Brazilian national team will open its campaign in the South American Football Championship “Copa America 2024”, currently being held in the United States, by facing the Costa Rica national team.

The Brazilian team, which has won nine titles in the tournament, will play its Costa Rican counterpart on Monday evening, local time (Tuesday morning GMT), in the first round of Group D, which also includes the Paraguay and Colombia teams.

The Brazilian national team always comes at the top of the candidates to win the title when it participates in any major competition, and this applies to its current participation in the Copa America.

Dorival Junior was appointed to coach the Brazilian national team last January, after Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti chose to remain with his Spanish team, Real Madrid.

The Brazilian national team has not suffered any defeat against any of the CONCACAF teams in more than 12 years, especially since the team lost 0-2 to its Mexican counterpart in a friendly match in the United States in June 2012.

The Brazilian national team is participating in the tournament with a huge contingent of stars, led by Vinicius Junior, the Spanish Real Madrid star, and Rodrigo, his teammate in the royal team, who led the ancient club to win the Champions League and local league titles last season. The team also includes Alisson Becker, goalkeeper. Liverpool, England, Rafinha, Barcelona’s Spanish winger, Gabriel Magalies, Gabriel Martinelli, Arsenal’s English duo, Marquinhos, Paris Saint-Germain’s French defender, and Douglas Luiz, Aston Villa’s English midfielder.

During its five previous participations in the Copa America, the Costa Rica national team passed the group stage in 2001 and 2004, while it was eliminated in the first round in the 1997, 2011 and 2016 editions.
