Luis Carrión signs for two seasons with UD Las Palmas

UD Las Palmas announced this Wednesday the hiring of Spanish coach Luis Carrión as the new coach of the yellow team for next season and with a contract until 2026.

“Luis Miguel Carrión Delgado (02/07/1979, Barcelona) and UD Las Palmas join their paths for the beginning of a new season in LALIGA EA SPORTS. The Catalan coach remains linked with the yellow entity until June 30, 2026 “, Las Palmas announced.

Carrión arrives in Gran Canaria after his great time at Real Oviedo in LaLiga Hypermotion, a club that he took on matchday seven and took to the final for promotion, being one step away from raising the Asturian team to First Division. After losing that ticket in the playoff against Espanyol, the Catalan coach left Oviedo to also go to LaLiga EA Sports with UD Las Palmas.

After his time as a player, in which he played for FC Barcelona’s youth academy and for teams such as Nástic, Córdoba, Terrassa, Melilla and Deportivo Alavés, he began his career as a coach at RCD Espanyol Femenino, later going on to manage Córdoba CF, UD Melilla, CD Numancia, FC Cartagena and Real Oviedo.

“UD Las Palmas entrusts him with the direction of the team with the aim of achieving permanence by making the collective prevail over individual flashes, which will revalue emerging players and prolong a path of opportunities for local footballers,” adds the Canarian club. , at the beginning of a new stage after which Xavi García Pimienta signed for two and a half years.
