It was a friendly match that went very wrong. Chilean justice announced this Wednesday evening the death of a Chilean supporter after his attack during a friendly football match. The meeting between the Chilean club Colo and the Peruvian team Universitario took place in the capital Santiago de Chile while the South American teams compete for the Copa America.
“A group of fans, obviously from the Universitario de Lima club, attacked a Colo Colo supporter,” prosecutor Francisco Morales said at a press conference. The prosecutor did not provide further information on the identity of the victim.
