Tedesco’s Belgians have fun before the round of 16

Belgium coach Domenico Tedesco has highlighted the good mood in his team ahead of the round of 16 match against France at the European Football Championship.

“I have to say that the atmosphere was fantastic from day one,” said the 38-year-old. “We have fun being together, we enjoy being together,” explained the former Bundesliga coach. “The only things that are negative come from outside.”

The Belgians will face France in Düsseldorf on Monday (6 p.m./ZDF and MagentaTV). Despite being favorites, both teams only finished second in their group in the preliminary round and scored just two goals each. From Tedesco’s point of view, however, this was mainly due to their poor utilization of opportunities. “I think the quantity and quality of the chances we had in the first three games is incredible.”
