Robson scores again for Coritiba after 118 days

After being away from the Coritiba,Robson scored another goal for the team. The top scorer for the green and white team this season was a starter and converted the penalty that tied the game against Vila Nova, in the second half stoppage time, this Saturday (29), at Couto Pereira.

The player has not been a starter since the semi-final of the Campeonato Paranaense, in March. His last goal had been in the match against Cianorte, in the quarter-finals of the State Championship. The top scorer of the thigh-white season reached 12 goals in 17 games.

Happy with my return and for having scored the goal. It’s obvious that the result wasn’t what we wanted, but we fought until the end and didn’t give up on anything. Of course there is pressure from the fans, they have the right to do so. I am here to give my best and I hope things get better from now on,” he said after the match in an interview with Premiere.

Robson’s equalizer saved Coxa, who were losing the game 1-0. In the first half, the players were booed. In the second half, part of the crowd chanted the name of Alef Manga, a striker who is in the final stretch of his punishment for match-fixing and has an uncertain future at Coxa.

The fans have the right to do so, we know it’s difficult, Série B isn’t easy. But the result is not bad at all. Now it’s time to rest and go for the three points because we have another game at home in the next round”, said the number 30.

Coritiba coach praised Robson’s physical fitness

Robson had already come on in the defeat to Amazonas, in the last round, away from home. The striker played the final 30 minutes. This Saturday, coach Fábio Matias praised the player’s physique and said that the plan was to take him off in the second half.

“Robson surprised us today. I praise the club’s performance for his return. He was not expected to stay until the end. So I praise his return, an important athlete who gave a lot to the game”

Robson scored in the 47th minute of the second half, after VAR signaled a penalty for Coritiba. With the draw, Coxa is unbeaten at Couto Pereira for five matches.
