Gruconsa exonerates the RFEF lawyer and presents ‘Nene’ as a “mere salesman”

The construction Gruconsa completely exonerates the external lawyer of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Tomás González Cueto, and assures that before the police operation against the leadership of Luis Rubiales “I didn’t even know him.”

The company that the Civil Guard places at the epicenter of the corruption plot to pay bribes to the former president of Spanish football and his immediate entourage has submitted a document to the Majadahonda Court investigating the so-called Rubiales case.

In it he gives his version for the first time about the payments he made to Javier Martin Alcaideknown as Nenea close friend of Rubiales and whom the Judicial Police indicates as a front man for the former federative president, but also addresses his alleged connection with Gonzalez Cuetowhich he directly describes as non-existent.

Gruconsa explains that Nene “He was a mere salesman” who “never had a payroll or was ever employed” and who limited himself to “charging for the work he got on a success basis.” In this sense, and contrary to what the investigation maintains, he adds that “the majority” of the orders he received “had nothing to do with the RFEF,” reducing the latter to barely 3% of his total turnover.

Thus, he indicates that, in addition to having paid him for having obtained renovation works in the La Cartuja football stadium (an operation that the Civil Guard directly links with Rubiales), he emphasizes that the works “that generated the most turnover” were related, to quote just one example, with the construction of 39 luxury villas in the Malaga town of Fuengirola. This operation, which is called The Fig Treerepresented “72% of all billing” between Gruconsa and the close friend of Rubiales.

Along these lines, Gruconsa denies that the payments made subsequently by Nene a Gonzalez Cueto (which amounted to around 70,000 euros) have to do with works linked to the RFEF and he also adds that the amounts that the Civil Guard is trying to link do not even coincide. “What Martín Alcaide did with his assets has nothing to do with my clients and is beyond his scope and sphere of control,” Gruconsa highlights by completely separating this lawyer from his activity, the only one detained during the police operation against Rubiales.

For all these reasons, the construction company considers the links established by the Civil Guard between “mere assumptions taken out of context” Gruconsa and the directive of Rubialeseven though the brother of the head of the RFEF Legal Services, Pedro González Seguraworked at the aforementioned construction company. For this reason, he asked the judge to dismiss the case in relation to the company.
