FIFA organizes the first World Cup for the game “Football Manager”

FIFA announced on Thursday that it will host the first Football Manager World Cup this year.

FIFA is partnering with Sports Interactive, the company that developed the game, which has sold millions of copies and is used by football clubs to scout players and identify opponents thanks to its comprehensive database.

Players will compete in the tournament, which will be held between August 29 and September 1, for cash prizes worth $100,000.

FIFA said a number of member associations will receive invitations to participate in the inaugural edition. Federations from all six continents are expected to receive invitations, while players can register via FIFA’s website.
