Skočić poked HNS: ‘Stories are created and facts are ignored’

Croatian U21 national team there is a new menu. It is Edge Olić (44)until recently assistant Zlatka Daliću in the senior category and the legendary Croatian attackerč who for years led the “fiery” attack.

Olić replaced him in the leading position of the “fiery” ones Dragana Skočića (55). The native of Rijeka agreed with HNS to terminate the cooperation by agreement, but the bitterness that remained after parting can be felt.

– I wish good luck to my successor, the new coach of the Croatian U-21 national team Ivica Olću! I agreed on the termination of the contract with HNS and I have no objections to that. In the qualifiers for the European Championship, Croatia has one loss, the same as first-placed Portugal and one game less than Portugal. He has one point less than the Greeks and two games less than the Greeks. The next four games are at home, after three times we played all the games in the group away. Therefore, both Portugal and Greece are coming to us, as well as the Faroe Islands and Andorra – wrote Skočić on Facebook and added:

– The position for continuing the qualifications is good. Sometimes stories in the media are more important than facts, even though they are based on some facts. But when stories arise, facts that do not speak in favor of the story begin to be ignored.

Skočića cost a series of bad results

The HNS decision came after a series of unconvincing results from the Croatian youth team. Croatia U21 lost the last two friendly matches against Irish (2-3) i Sweden (2-5), the results of previous meetings were added to that.

In nine previous meetings, Croatia lost with Euro after just one point won. Skočić’s chosen ones lost from of Spain (0-1) i Ukraine (0-2) and drew against Romanian in a match where there were no goals. So, the young “fiery” did not manage to score a goal at the European Championship.

Croatia still has a chance to qualify for the Euro

A victory followed Faroe Islands 4-2 and a draw against Grčke 2-2 and two wins over Belarus 2-0 and 1-0. Then the victory against Andorra 3-0 and it seemed that Croatia had finally caught the rhythm. But a high defeat against Portuguese 5-1 and defeats in two friendlies in a row set off the alarm. And when everything is put on paper, out of 11 games Skočić has only beaten Andorra, the Faroe Islands and Belarus twice. And along the way, his girlfriend received 24 pieces.

However, the qualifications are not over and Croatia still has a chance to qualify for the next European Championship. They will host the Faroe Islands twice in September and then Portugal, which will most likely be a key match in the fight for first place and placement at the Euros.
