A growing French contingent. This Tuesday, UEFA allocated 7,100 places to the French Football Federation (FFF) for the Euro quarter-final between Portugal and France, Friday in Hamburg (9 p.m.). These supporters are in addition to the 1,100 places reserved for members of the Supporters’ Club. During its round of 16 match against Belgium (1-0), France was able to count on the presence of 8,000 supporters, compared to 6,000 for the Belgians.

Didier Deschamps’ men will therefore face Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates after the Portuguese team’s narrow qualification against Slovenia in the round of 16 (0-0 aet, 3-0 on penalties). Earlier in the competition, Roberto Martinez’s men scored a major coup by winning (3-0) against Turkey in the group stage. A victory which then secured them first place in Group F after their initial success against the Czech Republic (2-1), despite a minor defeat against Georgia (2-0) afterwards.

This Portugal-France will smell of revenge. The same that the Belgians were looking for against the French and that the Blues will want to find against those who deprived them of a victory at the Euro at home in 2016. In addition to Ronaldo, the inexhaustible Pepe, 41, will also be there.
