Big announcement before Paris?  Great Croatian handball players defeated the Egyptians, Šoštarić excelled

In the first preparatory match for Olympic games Croatian handball players in Varaždin registered a convincing victory against of Egypt 36-29 (18-14).

After a mini-preparation in Prelog, Croatian handball players celebrated against strong Egypt in the first warm-up match for the appearance at the Olympic Games.

Menu Dagur Sigurdsson decided to send Filip Ivi, Josip Šarc, Ivan Pavlovi and Mateo Maraš to the stands, and thus 17 games were recorded in the minutes.

Croatia led practically from start to finish, and after they won the first part with 18-14, in the second part that advantage grew to a respectable seven points.

The most effective in our ranks was Mario Šoštarić with eight goals from the same number of attempts, and Ivan Martinovi gave five each. and Marin Jelinić. For the Egyptians, Seif ElDeraa and Omar Yahia were the best with five goals each.

After tomorrow’s easier morning training, Croatia will finish the first part of the preparations for the Olympic Games in Paris. Three days of rest follow, and the new gathering is scheduled for July 11 in Opatija.

In Paris, Croatia is in Group A, which includes Spain, Germany, Slovenia, Sweden and Japan. Group B includes France, Denmark, Norway, Hungary, Egypt and Argentina.
