PSG: Delphine Cascarino closer to the United States than to the capital club

The outcome of the future of Delphine Cascarino, whose contract with Olympique Lyonnais is ending, “is close,” HervĂ© Renard said at a press conference on Thursday. Asked about his player’s future, the coach of Les Bleues suggested that the announcement of her future club would come quickly, assuming at the same time that she would leave Les Gones to take on a new challenge. “I discussed it with her, the decision is close. She feels good, she is even rather delighted. Given her enormous qualities, I was not too worried about her finding a challenge that lived up to her expectations.”

More than ever, the trend is towards a departure from OL for Delphine Cascarino, at the club since 2009. The discussions to extend her contract have not been successful and during this time the player has continued to attract covetousness. As revealed on our site on June 25, PSG and Chelsea have positioned themselves to welcome her but another team is well on its way to grabbing the prize: San Diego Wave FC.

Heading to San Diego, California?

According to our information, the American club based in California is in pole position to sign the French international (62 caps, 14 goals). While small details remain to be settled to complete the operation, all parties have made good progress to allow the 27-year-old winger to join the United States.

Unless there is a turnaround, Delphine Cascarino will take a different route, opting for San Diego, than her teammate Griedge Mbock recruited by Paris from OL. In the negotiations, PSG was not able to subscribe to the player’s salary demands and finds itself largely relegated in this matter.
