Juan Ayuso abandons the Tour de France

Spanish cyclist Juan Ayuso abandoned the Tour de France on Friday at the start of stage 13, between Agen and Pau over 165.3 kilometers, where he was already riding at the back of the pack, the French race announced in a post on its ‘X’ account.

The runner was experiencing his first experience in the French race at the age of 21, and was in ninth position in the general classification, 7:09 behind his teammate Tadej Pogacar, who remains in the lead.

His retirement comes one day after that of Pello Bilbao (Bahrain Victorious), who got off his bike on Thursday after also feeling unwell for the last two days.
