Carvajal tries to convince Rodri to join Real Madrid… and a dispute over Williams

Real Madrid player Dani Carvajal revealed that he tried to convince his national team colleague Rodri to leave Manchester City and join Real Madrid, saying: “I tell Rodri every day to come and sign for Real Madrid. I tell him every day: Leave Manchester where there is no sun and come to Madrid because we need you. He tells me: He is under contract but he would be perfect for our team.”

In a related context, a dispute broke out between Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish Football Federation on the eve of the Euro 2024 final due to rumors about the future of Nico Williams, the national team player who scored 5 goals and made 19 goals last season to lead his team to fifth place.

Bilbao president John Uriarte attacked the Football Association, saying: “Nico Williams is our player and has a contract with us until 2027, but he was bombarded with questions about his future in the Euros and the Football Association did not protect him as it did with the rest of the players.”

The Football Association responded to the Bilbao president with a statement, which read: “The association treated Nico Williams in the same way as the other 25 players who travelled to Germany, and what happened to him is related to his excellent performance in the tournament, and has nothing to do with our treating him differently.”

For his part, Chelsea player Marc Cucurella promised to dye his hair red if he wins the Euro 2024 title at the expense of the English, whom he knows well from the league, especially his teammate Palmer, and said: “It is better for him to stay on the bench and not play.”

The press likened the Chelsea player to Barcelona legend Carles Puyol because both graduated from the Lama Seia academy and both have long hair. Cucurella said: “I feel proud of this comparison.”
