Football transfers: For around 60 million euros: Diaby to Saudi Arabia

Just one year after moving from Bayer Leverkusen to the Premier League, French international Moussa Diaby is moving to Saudi Arabia. The 25-year-old has signed a five-year contract with Al-Ittihad until summer 2029, the club announced after passing his medical. Diaby is thus moving to the club of his two compatriots Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté. Reports have stated that the transfer fee is 60 million euros.

Just a year ago, the winger moved from Leverkusen to Aston Villa in England for 55 million euros. Bayer won the German championship the following season. Diaby’s annual salary at the club in Saudi Arabia is said to be around 20 million euros. The professional proudly posted photos on social media with his new jersey and the number 19 that he will wear.

“I am delighted to join Al-Ittihad and be part of a project that aims to build a strong team that reflects the club’s rich history and values,” Diaby was quoted as saying in the club’s statement.
