Brazilian football legend Zico is robbed in Paris for a total of 500,000 euros

The legendary former Brazilian footballer Zico invited by his country’s Olympic delegation to the Paris 2024 Games filed a complaint for the theft of a suitcase, which led to the opening of an investigation, the French capital’s public prosecutor’s office said on Friday.

Zico said that “a suitcase containing valuables was stolen from his vehicle with the window open, in the 19th arrondissement” in northern Paris, the prosecutor said, confirming a report by Le Parisien.

According to the newspaper, the value of the theft amounts to “500,000 euros”: in the suitcase there was “a Rolex watch, a diamond pendant and 2,000 euros and 2,000 dollars in cash.”

Although a source close to the investigation consulted by AFP says that the value of the objects is “very overestimated.” The investigations were entrusted to the Banditry Suppression Brigade (BRB) of the Parisian judicial police.

Arthur Antunes CoimbraZico, 71, legendary ’10’ of Flamengo and the Brazilian national team, with which he played in the World Cups in Argentina-1978, Spain-1982 and Mexico-1986, was also assistant to technical director Mario Lobo Zagallo in the Canarinha that lost 3-0 in the final of the World Cup in France-1998 against the French team led by Zinedine Zidane.
