Senna Over Pollution Limits. Skips Triathlon Training

There is no peace for the waters of the Seine, which were made swimmable again with difficulty for the Olympics after months of effort: the first training session in the water of the triathlon was cancelled because the level of pollution in the Parisian river was found to be “unsafe” for the health of the athletes. This was reported by the organizers of the Games, claiming that the rains that fell on Friday and Saturday in Paris had increased the pollution level of the river. For this reason, the organizing committee, the international triathlon federation and the local authorities have taken the “joint decision to cancel the swimming part of the triathlon” scheduled for today because “the water level does not present sufficient guarantees”, they said in a joint statement. The Committee remains “confident” that training can take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.
