SAF, new stadium, controversial shirt and the dream of promotion

Railway Worker,a club from Ponta Grossa, has alternated between good and bad moments in the current season of the Brazilian Championship Series B. With the best defense in the competition, but with one of the worst attacks, the team is in the table – it is in 10th place, with 29 points.

Five points separate Fantasma from the G4 and ten points separate them from the relegation zone. The team dreams of reaching the national football elite for the first time. In recent years, the team from Paraná has achieved consecutive promotions and has established itself on the national scene.

Feet on the ground for Operário’s unprecedented access

Álvaro Góes, president of the Workers’ Management Group

Operário Ferroviário’s good form in recent seasons is no coincidence. According to the president Alvaro Goes the team’s success is directly linked to the hard work behind the scenes. “It’s the result of hard work, dedication and intensity in the games. Of course, it’s not easy. We put together a team thinking that everything will work out, but difficulties arise along the way. It’s important to be united to seek positive results,” Goes highlighted in an exclusive interview with OneTwo Sports.

Operário has already reached the top four of the current Série B. However, the director insists on keeping his feet on the ground regarding the competition. “Every president dreams of being in Série A of the Brazilian league. It’s no different here. But first, we have to guarantee our permanence in Série B, and secure the 45 points. Then, if we have the conditions, we will certainly seek the promotion we’ve dreamed of,” added the president.

Professional management and vision for the future

Another key aspect for Operário’s performance this season is the professional management that the club has adopted. Álvaro Goes emphasizes that the professionalization of the administration was essential to keep the club competitive. “There was no major change, we just became more professional. We always bring in professional people who come and help us. The important thing is to be alongside people who have vision and this is happening at Operário,” he explained.

This vision of the future is reflected in the way the club manages its finances. Embraced by the city of Ponta Grossa, the Operário also draws attention due to the large number of sponsors on his shirt. There are 28 in total. The revenue with the support of entrepreneurs amounts to R$700 thousand per month.

“Without money, there is no football today. Operário is a lean company, we don’t spend more than we earn and we really use the jersey to raise the money we need. First, we need to have credibility, our board has that and people believe in us. With that, they invest in the club. There are a lot of people who are on the jersey who don’t even need to be, but they are part of our group and know about honest work”, said Goes.

SAF: A possibility still distant in Operário

Amid the club’s good phase, the possibility of adopting the Football Corporation (SAF) model is a topic that, for now, remains far from Operário’s plans. Although the club has already received proposals, Álvaro Goes is cautious about this path. “SAF is something dangerous. We have already received proposals and they were all indecent. It has to be a company that comes, can build a new stadium and invest for Operário to grow. The SAF issue today is very far from what we have in mind for Operário”, he revealed.

Betting on the base and dreams of growth

While the Série A remains an ambitious goal, Operário is also working on other fronts to ensure a solid future. Investment in the youth teams is one of the club’s focuses, which seeks not only to discover talent, but also to generate revenue through the sale of players. “The initial goal is to remain in Série B or even gain promotion. Along with this, we have been working on our youth team so that we can have a good number of athletes. The youth team is very important. It is time for Operário to bear fruit. That is the goal. To have an asset in the club, to be able to make a significant sale, to make money. That is the goal of any club”, concluded Álvaro Goes.

With a consistent campaign and management focused on results, Operário Ferroviário remains firm in its quest for access to Série A, keeping alive the dream of reaching new heights in Brazilian football.
