Saint-Étienne supporter loses her collector’s jersey in Monaco, the club offers her a new one

Marion will remember this trip to Monaco for a long time. This AS Saint-Étienne supporter, who was planning to celebrate her club’s return to Ligue 1 after two years in the second division, had the collector’s jersey she had brought to the Rock stolen.

On X, the one who calls herself Warionette7, recounted what happened to her. “I was forced to leave my 90th anniversary jersey in the AS Monaco luggage storage. As a result, it was stolen. It was the most beautiful jersey in my collection. It is nowhere to be found now. I am dejected,” she wrote the day after the match, won by the Monegasques (1-0).

A match that the supporter did not follow from the Saint-Étienne enclosure but elsewhere in the stadium. “When I was searched, the security girl told me that no one could enter with a Saint-Étienne jersey. I told her that I could put it in my pocket and that we would not talk about it anymore. She insisted, telling me that it was impossible and that I had to leave it in the luggage locker,” she testified on Radio Scoop.

After the match, Marion was never able to find her jersey. “I received no apology from the person who told me that the jersey had disappeared. It was the same person who asked me to leave it with her,” continues the Stéphanoise.

Barely three quarters of an hour later, the magic of social networks seemed to be working. “The club contacted me, thank you all. Long live football,” Marion posted.

Since then, the supporter has kept her followers up to date on developments in this jersey story. This Thursday morning, in a new X-rated post, she wrote “Thank you to the biggest club in France” next to a photo of a new jersey, the same one that was lost at the Stade Louis-II. “Hello Marion! We found the last of the last 90th anniversary jerseys in our drawers. It’s not the one you wore in Monaco, but it should cheer you up!”, the ASSE communications team wrote to her in a short note.

A story that ends well and which should allow Marion to wear this brand new jersey during the next match of the Greens on Saturday evening against Le Havre.

Moreover, Marion is not the only one to have had misadventures during this match. Several female supporters have in fact denounced touching during the pre-match searches. According to France Bleu Loire, around twenty testimonies have been sent to the club. https://www.francebleu.fr/sports/football/des-supportrices-de-l-as-saint-etienne-denoncent-des-fouilles-abusives-au-stade-louis-ii-de-monaco-1249272
