Bellingham’s absence from Real Madrid announced

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham will be out for around a month after suffering a leg injury during training.
Real Madrid said in a statement, without specifying the length of the England international’s absence: “Following the tests carried out today on Jude Bellingham by Real Madrid’s medical staff, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantar fascia of his right leg.”
An injury of this type usually takes about a month to recover from, according to Spanish media estimates, meaning Bellingham will miss La Liga matches against Valladolid, Las Palmas, and Real Betis, in addition to England’s two matches in the European Nations League, against Ireland and Finland, in September.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotin said in a press conference on Friday that Bellingham “suffered a blow, and we are assessing it.”
The international midfielder was a mainstay in Real’s squad last season, helping them win the league and Champions League double in his first season with the club.
In Real’s first two matches this season, Bellingham played as a central midfielder to accommodate the arrival of French striker Kylian Mbappe, after playing in a more advanced position last season.
The 21-year-old hopes to be ready for Real’s first Champions League match, scheduled for September 17-19.
