The latest IDC report shows that Huawei continues to dominate the global market for wearable devices, despite intense competition. In the first six months of this year, shipments of wearable gadgets increased by 55.1 percent compared to last year, and they are in the leading position in two consecutive quarters. And on September 19, the company plans to launch a new series of watches in Barcelona, ​​with which they expect to further strengthen that position.

It is expected that the focus of Huawei’s presentation in Barcelona will be the new Watch GT 5 watches. These should include the recently announced new version of the TruSense system, which brings major improvements in health and fitness tracking, but also offers more accurate and comprehensive data.

According to teasers on Huawei’s social media, the watches will feature a geometric design with sharp edges, made of premium materials such as titanium alloy and white ceramic, which means they continue with the premium materials and design of the previous series. .

New generation blood pressure monitor

Huawei suggested a focus on expanding health monitoring capabilities during the launch of the HUAWEI TruSense system, with reports indicating that it may introduce ABPM (ambulatory blood pressure monitoring) to its wearables, i.e. the new iteration. HUAWEI WATCH D watch that had a pressure gauge.

This could be the first smartwatch in the world that supports active blood pressure monitoring, intended for users concerned about their health and blood pressure.

The last major release in this area was the HUAWEI WATCH D in 2021, which received the EU CE medical certificate.
