India is making progress in space: it plans to have its own space station by 2035

India is making great strides in the space race. After having marked a milestone with its arrival at the South Pole of the Moon, it now aims to have its own space station by 2035, for which it already has a program.

In a few years, the current International Space Station (ISS), in which the United States, Russia, Japan, Europe and Canada are collaborating, will be ready. Its completion could be in 2030 and a few years later India could have the Bharatiya Antariksn Station (BAS).

In this way, the Asian country becomes one of the new world powers to conquer space, like China, which already has its own space station.

To achieve this project, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is involved. For this work, there will be eight initial missions, four for 2026 and the others for 2028, when the first module will be launched, according to a report by El Español-Omícrono.

The space station is expected to have five connected modules, weigh 52 tons and orbit approximately 400 kilometers above the Earth. In addition, astronauts could stay there for between 3 and 6 months. Its price is expected to be 2.4 billion dollars.

Construction will begin with India’s existing space rockets and will be completed by 2035 with the next NGLV rocket.
